Diploma in Business StudiesNgee Ann Polytechnic
In my last semester of Diploma in Business Studies in Ngee Ann Polytechnic, I was attached to Chiropractic First’s Marketing and Communications Department in the Head Office. In these 6 months, I have gained valuable knowledge and experience not only about Marketing and Business issues, but about Chiropractic Care as well.
Much of my knowledge learnt in school could be applied here, and my internship allowed me to understand how such things worked in the corporate world. I also picked up new skills and knowledge that were not learnt in school, such as digital and social media marketing, designing marketing collaterals and business development. My work responsibilities were not confined to the office, and I had the opportunity to help execute events such as corporate talks and roadshows. I learnt to be more creative and spontaneous, as I was constantly encouraged to think out of the box for my tasks. I also learnt how to be interactive, as the events required me to be outspoken and to engage with strangers in order to educate and promote to them about Chiropractic Care.
The working environment at Chiropractic First is positive and people-oriented, thus it was a pleasure for me to come to work everyday. My co-workers were energetic and encouraging, giving me the boost I needed to work each day. Even though my internship has ended, I had continued to work for the company. I had a fulfilling and enjoyable experience with Chiropractic First.
